Sub-postmaster, his aide arrested in bribery case

A sub-postmaster and another employee of post office, were today arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 in the district, the ACB of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said today.
The accused sub-post master K Arjuna Rao and a packer P Kishore, working on temporary basis at Vegagunta Post in the district, were caught accepting the bribe at Vegagunta Post office.
Based on a complaint lodged by a person, a case was registered against sub-postmaster on October 3 after he sought bribe amount from him to hand over the cheques towards surrender of fixed deposits of Rs 10 lakh kept in the post office by complainant and his family members.
Both the accused were produced before the Principal Special Judge court for CBI cases here, who remanded them to judicial custody till October 16, 2015, CBI (ACB) Superintendent of Police R Gopala Krishna Rao said in a release here today.
