Tata Communications has signed a collaboration agreement with Bahrain-based integrated communications company Batelco, enabling it to extend its connectivity footprint in the Middle East via latter's well established and resilient global MPLS network.
Batelco General Manager Enterprise Division Adel Daylami said the firm has entered into the agreement with Tata Communications to expand Batelco's international reach.
This, he said, would give both parties diversity in terms of choice of providers, and additionally support Tata Communications requirements for reliable connectivity in the Middle East region.
Batelco customers will also benefit from the agreement as a result of extended international network reach through Tata Communications global network.
In line with the Batelco/Tata Communications collaboration agreement, an MPLS PoP (Point of Presence) node will be established at Batelco's state-of-art data centre located in Manama.
The data centre is dedicated to providing uninterrupted services to mission-critical data processing operations for organisations located in Bahrain, regionally, and further afield.
Batelco's infrastructure and expertise supports its efforts to be the number one choice for international carriers.
Batelco has established a strong reputation in the Middle East telecommunication industry over many years and is a trusted partner of choice for many global providers, such as Tata Communications, who require connectivity in to and out of the Middle East and Gulf region, the company said.
"Batelco is pleased to be the partner of choice for global players such as Tata Communications, empowering their local and global networks through the provision of reliable and resilient connectivity into Bahrain.
"Strategic partnerships with global players demonstrate Batelco's trusted and resilient network. Batelco's capability locally and globally allows us to meet our partner's demands seamlessly, while also providing services at outstanding value," Daylami said.
Tata Communications' Managing Director and Regional Head, Middle East and North Africa, Radwan Moussalli, said that the Middle East region is a diverse and growing economy where "we see a constant demand for global connectivity solutions.
"The agreement with Batelco enables businesses to connect their offices in the region and around the world using Tata Communications' extensive regional and global presence.
"One of the focuses of our emerging markets strategy is to not only provide the Middle East with a gateway to developed markets around the world, but also to foster enhanced trading relationships with geographies such as Africa and South East Asia.
