The Tata Group flagship said consolidation of operations across the megapolis into the over 2 million sqft new facility will also create more indirect employment opportunities in the Greater Mumbai area.
The new facility was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
"We're delighted to launch the new next-gen workplace, TCS Olympus, which provides collaborative agile workspace, software-defined network, a security operations centre and a cloud-enabled infrastructure. This will help us further drive the next phase of growth," TCS chief executive and managing director Rajesh Gopinathan said.
"This facility, when fully operational over the next 12 months, will have over 30,000 associates," he said but did not disclose the investment gone into building the new facility.
TCS Olympus will be developed in two phases and 16,000-17,000 people have already moved into the new facility and it will commence exports from the centre from this month onwards.
Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran, present at the inauguration of the new facility, said ease of doing business in Mumbai and Maharashtra is very high and the group is committed to the state.
"There are many opportunities and the Tata group will explore all these opportunities, " he said.
