State Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao unveiled the life sciences policy framework at the Bioasia 2015 and said the sector is one of the 14 priority sectors identified in the new industrial policy released in December last year.
"The objective of the policy is by 2020 Telangana should get new investment of Rs 20,000 crore and attain export level of Rs 50,000 crore and create direct employment for 50,000 people," the policy said.
As part of the policy, a Pharma City will be developed on the outskirts of ther state capital, it further said.
