Sutti Velu had been unwell for some time and the end came early today following a heart-related problem, sources here said.

Born in Krishna district of coastal Andhra Pradesh, he made his film debut in early 1980s and acted in over 200 films.

Sutti Velu became a household name with comedy films like 'Chantabbai' and 'Nalugu Stambhalata' directed by late film director Jandhyala.

He was often paired with another comedian, Veerabhadra Rao, and the duo was hugely popular.

Sutti Velu also acted on stage and in TV serials and received several awards, including the prestigious Nandi award of the Andhra Pradesh government.
