Tension prevails over attempt to demolish temple

Rajesh, the brother of sarpanch of Veerampur Bamnai village Sarvesh Kumari, along with his accomplices attempted to demolish a Shiv temple for constructing shops on a disputed land this afternoon, they said.

Enraged over the incident, the locals rushed to the spot and pelted stones and bricks at the accused.

However, the situation was brought under control after almost two hours, they said.

Meanwhile, Rajesh and Narendra Kumar from the other side have been detained and huge number of police personnel has been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.
