Three dead in fire incident

A woman and her two minor daughters are believed to have died of asphyxiation in a fire incident here, police said today.
"Fire broke out in the small rented room of a migrant labourer Kuldeep Kumar in the Digiana area of Jammu and because of the lack of proper ventilation, smoke accumulated inside the room, and due to which his wife Neelam Kumari (24), and daughters Meenakshi (2) and Sonakshi (7 months) died," a police spokesman said.
He said that during the time of the incident yesterday, Kumar was not in the town.
"The bodies were shifted to the government medical college hospital for postmortem and a case has been registered in this regard," he said.
