The incident took place when constable Vishnu Sriram Uikey, attached to Sonegaon Police station here along with two yet to be identified friends, was returning to the city after having dinner late Sunday night at his kin's place.
One of the occupants driving the car lost balance and the vehicle accidentally fell in Lower Vena irrigaton project canal
in Waigaon in Samrudapur taluka of Wardha, about 90 kms near here.
Two bodies including that of the constable was fished out last evening, police said.
The third is yet to be traced and police suspect it might have been washed away by heavy currents.
