Acting on a tip-off, a special police team under Tezpur Police HQ sub-inspector Pradip Gogoi, conducted an operation at Thelamara area and nabbed the three accused, identified as Abdul Haque, Kalu Seikh and Safiqul Islam.
Gogoi said the rhino horn, weighing around 1 kg, was seized from their possession.
"The rhino horn was to be sold at Rs 22 lakh to a peddler here and they confessed that the horn was given by Ramjan Ali of Udalguri Kochari Chak area. They have also confessed of selling a few more rhino horns," Gogoi said.
