The Trinamool Youth Congress (TMYC) today filed a complaint with the police against the BJP President for West Bengal Dilip Ghosh for his reported comments against it and demanded his arrest.
Slogans were shouted and black flags were waved at Ghosh during his visit here yesterday by Trinamool Chhatra Parishad, its student wing, for allegedly helping and protecting BJP women's leader Juhi Chakraborty, who is an accused in the sensational child trafficking case.
Facing demonstration, Ghosh had said some TMC leaders were in jail in the Saradha scam and some had been accused in the Narada case but that party was demonstrating against persons in BJP, whose involvement was yet to be proved in the child trafficking case.
"If the TMC workers continue to behave like this (demonstrate and show black flags) BJP workers will break their limbs," he had reportedly said which earned TMYC's ire.
TMYC in its complaint filed at the kotwali police station demanded that a criminal case be brought forthwith against Ghosh and that he be arrested.
Earlier in the day TMYC workers, led by its president Saikat Chattopadhyay gheraoed Chowdhury's residence here at Assammore.
Chowdhury is absconding since the news of the trafficking of 17 children by NGO 'Bimala Sishu Griho' broke.
The demonstrators demanded the arrest of Chowdhury's father saying if it is done her whereabouts would be known.
They also demanded the arrest of BJP MP Rupa Ganguly in connection with the trafficking case.
CID has already arrested the NGO chairperson Chandana Chakraborty, her brother Manas Bhowmik and its chief adoption officer Sonali Mondal.
