The accused, identified as V Anand Babu, sent messages from a mobile number to various VIPs and other government officers by identifying himself as Additional Secretary, PMO, and also as Personal Secretary to a senior IAS officer, who is the Chief Secretary to Telangana Chief Minister.
"He also made calls and messages to district collectors and superintendents of police making recommendation for jobs, postings, for accommodations and darshans in temples etc.," stated a release from the Central Crime Station- a wing of Hyderabad Police.
Police said the accused had procured the SIM card in a woman's name last November, which he used to send messages to the VIPs and other government offices.
