The trio have been identified as Mohd Suhag, Mohd Bilal and Ameerun.

The arrests came following investigations into a complaint filed by one Dilshad that he was approached by a woman who exchanged USD 20 for a meagre Rs 400.

"The woman told him that if he wanted more dollars then she can supply. Next day, she called him at Malviya Nagar Metro station where she along with two others showed him a bundle of US currency notes and told that there are total 1,129 currency notes of USD 20 denomination.

"The complainant gave them Rs one lakh but when they asked for Rs 65,000 he refused. Then the gang left the place. On checking, the complainant found only 3-4 notes of USD 20 dollars and rest were the pieces of newspapers," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chhaya Sharma said.

After seeing the same woman and the other two members in Mahipalpur today, Dishad alerted a police patrol team which nabbed them, the DCP said.
