Bandh supporters burnt a truck carrying oil in drums in the Diphu-Lumding road this afternoon after forcing the driver and handyman to get down, the police said.

Shops and business establishments remained closed and vehicular traffic was minimal.

The bandh call was given by the KSYC to protest against alleged encroachment of land in the district by people from Meghalaya.

The outfit had alleged that Meghalaya government has set up police posts and schools in land belonging to Assam.
