Two children die in road mishap in Jaipur

Two minor boys riding on a bicycle were today mowed down by a truck at Transport Nagar circle here, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Irshad and Dilshad, both 12-13 years old, they said.
The mishap occurred when both the boys riding the bicycle were hit by the truck coming from Delhi around 9 am on the Jaipur-Delhi bypass, police said.
The driver of the truck fled from the scene leaving behind his vehicle, they said.
Hundreds of residents on either sides of the bypass held a protest demanding arrest of the driver and also tried to damage the truck, but police prevented them.

After two hours of negotiations, the bypass was cleared and protesters left the accident site following which the bodies were shifted to SMS hospital mortuary, they added.
