arrested two extortionists in Hajipur town of Vaishali district for allegedly demanding Rs 30 lakh from an eye specialist and threatening him with dire consequences.
Superintendent of Police Suresh Prasad Chaudhary said the extortionists, Ashish Kumar and Sanjay Kumar alias Munchun, were residents of Patna.
"Ashish and Sanjay had demanded Rs 30 lakh from Dr Diwali Prasad posted at Hajipur Sadar Hospital two days ago. He had registered an FIR and we have been investigating the matter since then," Chaudhary said.
The SP said the two, along with their accomplices, had attempted to rob him at his Patna residence two month ago but were unsuccessful. They had left behind a pistol while fleeing at that time.
