Official sources said the seized fake currency notes are in the denominations of Rs 1000 and Rs 100 with a total face value of Rs one lakh.
Police are interrogating the duo, who had come to sell the counterfeit notes to some of their clients.
They hail from Tinsukia district and were picked up from Bangalpara locality of Bihpuria town, the sources added.
