Undertrial abduction: 4 suspended for dereliction of duty
Head Constable Heeralal, constable Thakurdas, Amitabh and Bharat Singh were suspended yesterday by the SP for dereliction of duty, police sources said today.
The incident took place yesterday when Heeralal and Thakurdas, part of a team of four policemen, were escorting Rashid from Deeg jail to a local court for trial.
Their motorcycle was stopped by armed men in a jeep and all three were abducted.
The other two policemen, Amitabh and Bharat Singh, were running late on another vehicle.
Later, the miscreants set free the constables in Uttar Pradesh, 45 kilometre from the district, and sped away with the undertrial.
