Student of a public school, Anjali Jha secured 58 per cent marks in the UP Board examinations, police said.
Her parents apparently scolded her for not faring well in the examinations which prompted her to take the extreme step, they said.
The girl was found hanging from a ceiling fan of her room this morning.
The body had been sent for post mortem, police said.
