Delhi-bound Vaishali Express was stranded on the Elgin Bridge on the Ghaghra river for around six hours due to a technical problem near Jarwal road railway station disrupting rail traffic for some time, a railway spokesman said today.
A fish plate got stuck in one of the coaches of Vaishali Express around midnight, Public Relation Officer of NE Railway Alok Srivastava said.
He said that without taking any risk the train was stopped at the Elgin bridge.
The plate was later removed with the help of gas cutter after which the train started its destination journey at 6.20 AM.
He said that traffic on upline was disrupted due to the incident, but all trains were passed through down line.
