Vikhe-Patil had targeted Pawar, who had been the Maharashtra CM thrice, and his party which was in power in alliance with the Congress for the last 15 years, for the status of irrigation and for allegedly favouring the western Maharashtra in water distribution.
"Vikhe-Patil only wanted to make the headlines by attacking Pawar," Tatkare said here, addressing a press conference.
He also alleged that Vikhe-Patil had opposed the release of water from upstream dams in western Maharashtra to the Jayawakdi dam in Marathwada.
