Virbhadra Singh's rally "unimpressive", says BJP

"Rs 2 to Rs 3 crore were wasted in the preparations for the rally, which appeared to be an effort on part of Congress workers to pressurise party high command to declare the chief ministerial candidate before the assembly polls in Himachal, slated later this year," BJP spokesman Ganesh Dutt said.

The response to the rally was "lukewarm", he claimed adding the gathering mainly comprised supporters of Singh.

People should not be misguided by such political gimmicks of Congress, Dutt said.

"Rather than political stunts, development should be the main issue for the state polls," he added.
