The Railway Minister said that previous governments had been found wanting in developing the state to its full potential, and asked the electorate to script change during the upcoming assembly polls.
"Uttar Pradesh always shows the way forward for the country, it has produced the highest number of Prime Ministers, and has also voted into power the largest number of BJP MPs. Despite this, it is still lagging behind as multiple state governments have failed to develop it to its potential," he said at a function in the city.
Prabhu also said the Centre had launched several new trains in the state, besides increasing the budget for providing amenities to travellers.
However, when asked about the two derailments in Kanpur recently, the minister walked off without giving any comment.
