"The CM handled this issue with care after which Warkaris have regained their rights," Bhandari told reporters here.
The Bombay High Court had banned Warkari pilgrims from constructing temporary shelters and bathing along the banks of The Chandrabhaga river at Pandharpur during Ashadhi and Kartiki Yatra.
BJP spokesperson Madhav Bhandari, who played the role of a mediator between the Warkaris and the Maharashtra state government, said that Warkaris performing religious rituals on the bank of the Chandrabhaga river at Pandharpur is an age old tradition which should be preserved.
The Bombay High Court had also given them relief after which they withdrew their agitation.
Rajabhau Chopdar, Bhanudas Maharaj Dhawalikar, Rajabhau Arphalkar and other Warkari representives had followed up the issue with Bhandari.
