The widow of late Trinamool Congress MP Kapil Krishna Thakur, who passed away last month, today alleged that she was abused and pushed around by the sons of her brother in-law Manjul Krishna Thakur, a minister in the Mamata Banerjee cabinet and a leader of the influential Matua community.
Mamata Thakur, the widow of Kapil Krishna, filed a complaint at Gaighata police station in North 24-Parganas district, SDPO Bongaon Mir Saidul Ali said.
Mamata alleged that Subrata and Santanu, sons of Manjul, had entered her room while she was holding a meeting with her followers and abused her and pushed her, police sources said.
The police is investigating the allegations, the sources said.
All of these persons belong to the Thakur family headed by Matua Maa, the leader of the influential Matua community which holds sway in Bongaon North constituency, from which Kapil Krishna had been elected MP earlier this year.
