Will not revive Raghupathi Commission: TN govt to Madras HC

The Tamil Nadu government informed the Madras High Court on Thursday that it would not revive the Raghupathi Commission of Inquiry, set up by the then AIADMK government in 2011 to probe alleged irregularities in construction of the new secretariat here during the DMK rule.
The AIADMK government's response came after the court's scathing observations earlier that the commission was constituted and prolonged "to neutralise the sensitiveness of the issues involved and to divert the attention of the people."
All relevant documents were handed over to Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) and it was for the anti-graft body to take a call on the matter, he said
