Woman arrested for looting elder

A woman was arrested for allegedly robbing an old woman of her jewellery at her house in New Teachers colony here by throwing chilli powder in her eyes.
Confirming the arrest, City Station House Officer (SHO) Raj Kumar said the woman was produced in a court today.
The accused woman, aged between 20-22 years was booked under relevant sections of IPC and taken into custody.
She had robbed the elder woman of her ear rings and a gold chain after throwing chilli powder in her eyes and inflicted injuries on her arms and face when the latter tried to resist. The incident took place on Saturday morning when the victim was at her home.

Meanwhile, some dalit leaders led by former BSP MLA Shingara Ram Sahungra today met the police officials on the plea that the girl, a dalit, was being falsely implicated. They also raised slogans against the police, reportedly.
