Microsoft today said XBox One will now also be available on e-commerce portal Flipkart, ending the online exclusive availability with rival Amazon.In.
Xbox One, Xbox Live, Xbox One Accessories and all Microsoft-published Xbox One game titles will be available on Flipkart alongside Amazon. In, a statement said.
The consoles will be available at a price starting at Rs 34,990.
Last year, Amazon and Microsoft had announced their partnership to bring Xbox One, Xbox 360, Kinect, Xbox Live, Xbox Accessories and all Microsoft-published Xbox game titles on the Amazon. In platform.
In August this year, it expanded the availability of Xbox One and Xbox One accessories to select Microsoft Priority Resellers.
"Over the last one year, through our partnership with Amazon. In, we have received an overwhelming response from consumers for Xbox One and Xbox 360 in India. Responding to this growing demand, we are now extending the availability of our portfolio to Flipkart," Microsoft India Director (Interactive Entertainment Business) Anshu Mor said.
With this move, Microsoft is looking to further expand its presence in the market, he added.
"Demand for our gaming category is witnessing exponential growth... Xbox will be available on our platform on the midnight of October 15, as a part of the Flipkart Big Billion Days," Flipkart VP Electronics Adarsh K Menon said.
Flipkart's Big Billion Days festive sale started on October 13 and will end on October 17.
Amazon India is also running its 'Great Indian Festive Sale' within the same timeframe.
The global e-commerce company said it has witnessed strong sales across categories.
Customers from tier-III towns have flocked Amazon. In through multiple platforms - PC, mobile and the app, it said.
"In the last two days, over 30 per cent orders have been received from tier- III towns across numerous categories including apparel, shoes, home decor, kitchen appliances, TVs, consumer electronics, books, FMCG products and sports equipment," it added.
