Youth booked for throwing step-brothers into canal

A youth has been booked for allegedly throwing his two step-brothers into a canal at Shardanagar area in the district today, in which one is feared to have drowned, police said.
The incident took place this afternoon when one Ranjit, in his mid-20s allegedly threw his two step-brothers Vikas (12) and Brijesh (7) into Sharda canal in Shardanagar area here, they said.
While Vikas somehow swam to safety, Brijesh is feared to have drowned and could not be traced yet, police said.
On the complaint of father Ram Sagar, a case of attempt to murder has been lodged against Ranjit, they said, adding search is on to trace Brijesh.
