Youth held for killing friend with iron rod in Raj

A 22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his friend by hitting him with an iron rod after an altercation between them while drinking liquor at Ropad locality here in the wee hours today, police said.
The victim, Rajesh (23) alias Sheru was drinking liquor with Vishnu Singh since yesterday morning in an open plot in Khonagorian colony here, they said.
When Sheru denied to bring water bottle, Vishnu hit him with an iron rod and fled the scene, they said.
A passer-by informed the police after hearing the victim's cries who died before they arrived, police said, adding Vishnu was nabbed from him room while sleeping.

Preliminary interrogation of the accused revealed that he and the deceased used to work on daily wage in the market here and old enmity between them was also one of the reason behind the murder
Vishnu was arrested and case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC has been lodged against him, they said, adding investigation is underway.
