After watching "Meeruthiya Gangsters", Zeishan's directorial debut, Anurag was apparently impressed.
"He was overwhelmed and turned to me saying, 'If you have a story, you must write and direct Gangs of Wasseypur 3. I want you to be the torch-bearer of Gangs of Wasseypur and take this ahead because I know that you can give full justice to it. After 'Meeruthiya Gangsters', you've won over my confidence," Zeishan quotes Anurag as telling him.
According to Zeishan, right now he is concentrating on "Meeruthiya Gangsters" and after the film releases on September 18, he plans to start writing the story of GoW 3 immediately.
The film will release next year and therefore it will go on the floors this year, says Zeishan, adding the locations and the cast will be lined up very soon.
"Meeruthiya Gangsters" is about six friends from Meerut and their adventures and misadventures in the world of crime. Zeishan has also written the script and co-produced it along with Prashant Tiwari, Prateek Tiwari, Shoeb Ahmed and Priyankka Bassi.
