The 13.50-per cent central government security was traded for Rs 55 crore at a yield of 13.05 per cent. A deal in the paper worth Rs 40 crore was struck at a price of Rs 100.46. The trade, to be settled the same day, was concluded at a yield of 13.06 per cent. Other two transactions at yields of 13.08 and 13.05 per cent, respectively, also to be settled the same day, were struck for Rs1 5 crore. The zero coupon bond maturing in 2000 was traded for Rs 2 crore at Rs 59.40. This paper had notched up the maximum number of deals on Tuesday.

The public sector bonds traded during the day included the 16-per cent IFCI bond maturing in 2001. A deal worth Rs 10 crore was struck at a yield of 16.28 per cent.
