The move comes in reponse to the alleged dumping of these products by CIS countries in India.

In a note to the government, the committe has suggested several measures to protect the Indian steel industry. These include:

1)Fixing of a trigger price for the two products and imposition of an anti-dumping duty on companies that export the product to India below this price.

2)Introduction of a regulatory duty for an interim period, as recommended by the Chelliah committee, if international prices fall by more than 25%, for a specified period and withdrawal of the duty once prices reach the
