Limca People Of The Year Award For Aroon Purie

Aroon Purie, editor, India Today, has been honoured with the 'Limca People of the Year Award for 1996 for his outstanding contribution to journalism. He was presented the award by Mani Shankar Aiyar, former member of parliament, at the India International Centre in the capital yesterday. The award, in recognition of Indian nationals who have strived for excellence and made a mark in their respective fields, was instituted in 1991.
