He told that Lloyds Impex, set up in Dubai's Jebel Ali free zone three years ago, had already achieved a turnover of $27
million. The company deals in trading of items such as steel, building materials, textiles and marine products.
Sanjeev Garg, general manager of Lloyds Impex, said the company was also going ahead with plans to set up a branch office in Dubai. He said it would shortly be renamed as Lloyds Global-trading Company after the necessary approvals by local authorities.
"The group set up its presence in the Middle East, as it realised the strategic importance of this market in terms of growing demand and its significant location for accessing other global markets," Gupta said.
