VisualSoft Technologies, the city-based software components, products and solutions company, has entered into a partnership agreement with two US companies, Sheridon Software and Farpoint, in the research and development of products using Component Object Model (COM)/ DCOM technologies.
The company plans to switch to a joint product development agreement with these companies soon on a risk and revenue-sharing basis.
Four such partnerships with US companies in the e-commerce and e-business areas are on the anvil.
"We were hesitating once even to negotiate a marketing arrangement for our products with these companies . Technology enterprises that were considered our competitors till sometime back are now coming forth to collaborate in a joint product development programme or to outsource some of their R&D requirements, " said D.V.S.Raju, the chairman of the company, at a press conference here, held after its fifth annual general meeting.
"There are 42 products in the market developed by the company now and we will release 20 more by June-end," said Raju. The company's COM/DCOM components have found very good acceptance in the market and in less than six months since it started development of JAVA Beans, it has become one of the top Java bean vendors in the world, according to him.
"Based on the changes that are taking place in the software delivery models, we are one of the first few companies to move into Application Service Provider (ASP) model. Two of our products, VisualSoft ,Webproject and Visual eMart have been ASP-enabled and are being offered under the ASP model to our customers currently, Raju said.
