India after losing the toss and being asked to bat first, never looked in control one bit as they lost Shubman Gill in the first over itself. Later on, wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Virat Kohli tried to hold on to one end, but a Nathan Ellis’ in-cutter was too good for him as well. In the end, the men in blue were bowled for 117 in 26 overs. Kohli top scored with 31 while Axar Patel made 29* to take India past 100.

It looks very tough to imagine that India could defend 117 on a wicket which is not supporting spin. It is the pace which has done the damage and India have gone in with only two genuine pacers in Mohd Siraj and Mohd Shami. This is now the fourth wicket that Mitchell Starc has claimed so far this afternoon. After getting rid of Gill, Rohit and Surya, he has trapped Rahul too. It was adjudged LBW by the on-field umpire. Rahul reviewed and yet the on-field umpire’s call was retained by the third umpire as it was three reds in impact, pitching and hitting the wickets.
