KKR vs DC: What’s next in IPL 2022?

 

The IPL 2022 action is non-stop and hence tomorrow, i.e. on Monday, April, 11th 2022, Gujarat Giants,k who have been so far unbeaten in the tournament, will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai from 07:30 pm IST onwards. KKR vs DC Match Summary

 

Chasing a total of more than 200 was never going to be easy and not at all after a poor start from the openers. Venkatesh Iyer went out early trying toi utilise the Powerplay as much as possible. Soon enough Rahane fell too, before Nitish Rana and skipper Shreyas Iyer added 69 off 42 balls to bring so0me momentum into the innings. 

 

The duo was about to unleash the beats mode when Lalit Yadav got the wicket of Rana off a full toss. Soon Shreyas was stumped off Kuldeep and then wickets kept falling as the run rate increased and even Andre Russell was too off colour to be able to do anything. 

 

The entire KKR innings ended in 19.4 overs as Shardul picked two wickets in the 20th over to give his team a much-needed win by 44 runs to take it to the sixth position in the Points Table above Punjab Kings. 

 

Earlier in the day, after being asked to bat first at the Brabourne Stadium, the Capitals got off to a flying start as Prithvi Shaw and David Warner added 93 for the first wicket in only 8.4 overs. 

 

The scoring slowed down a little bit as the Capitals were once reduced to 166-5 in 16.4 overs and 20 looked difficult to get. But with 40 runs coming off the last two overs courtesy of Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel, Delhi reached 215/5 at the end of their 20 overs.

KKR vs DC Player of the Match: Kuldeep Yadav

 

Kuldeep Yadav was rightly adjudged as the Player of the Match as he showed to his previous employers that he was worthy of being played in more matches, which he was not while being there at the Knight Riders in the past three seasons. 

 

He took four important wickets of opposition skipper Shreyas Iyer, vice-captain Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine before finishing his spell with a stunning caught and bowled to get Umesh Yadav out and keep himself on a hat-trick for the next match that he bowls in. He got two wickets of his last two balls.

KKR vs DC Highlights: DC win big courtesy Kuldeep, Shaw and Warner

 

The trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Prithvi Shaw and David Warner with some all-round showing from Shardul Thakur proved too much for the Kolkata Knight Riders as Delhi Capitals registered their second win by beating their opponents comfortably by 44 runs. Kuldeep Yadav finished with figures of 4-35 in his four overs while Shaw and Warner hit the fifties in the first innings to propel the Capitals to a total of 215/5 in 20 overs.
