PKL Final Live: Dabang Delhi rode on the back of brilliant performances from Vijay and Naveen Kumar to get a victory from a solitary point against Patna Pirates and be crowned PKL Season 8 Winners

And after gruelling 64 days and 136 games, Dabang Delhi have finally been crowned the champions of Pro Kabaddi League 2021-22. They defeated three times champions Patna Pirates by a solitary point to win the PKL final 37-36. Naveen Kumar was declared the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Season 8 of PKL for his brilliant performance throughout the league. In just 17 games he got 217 raid points.

The Dabang Delhi side, which beat Patna Pirates in the final was jeered by the brilliant raiding from Naveen Kumar and Vijay both of whom got crucial points, especially in the second half. And Joginder Narwal, the captain of the Dabang Delhi KC gets the winners cheque of Rs 3 crore from Anand Mahindra, the founder of Pro Kabaddi alongside their owner Radha Kapoor

 

And finally, the Governor of Karnataka presents the glittering trophy to Dabang Delhi KC as the players celebrate their maiden Pro Kabaddi title

This was indeed the game worthy of being called a final as the team from the Indian capital Dabang Delhi, who trailed 15-17 at the halfway mark made a great comeback and led the match at 35-30 at one point in the second half. However, the Pirates with their never-dying attitude got quick points courtesy of some great raids from Shadloui, yes Shadloui got raid points instead of tackle points. 

 

At 33-35, Patna could have gone very close as Vijay came in for a do or die raid and Sunil gave him an easy point. However, Patna fought back once again as it took three raids in the final minute and brought Delhi to take one final raid as the opposition led 37-36. And Naveen Kumar crossed the Baulk line under tremendous pressure and won his team it's first title ever

What drama here as Dabnag Delhi KC have won it on the last raid. Patna had got the lead back down to one point with Shadlou getting back to back points in his raid in the defence he gave one p[point as almost four raids were made in the last 30 seconds and as Monu took one point from the final raid for Patna with 12 seconds remaining, all Patna were left with was to not allow Dabang Delhi to cross the baulk line and he did and got the victory for his team.
