24/7 Customer, a global supplier of business process outsourcing services, has launched '24/7 Ascend', a partnership programme designed for the academic community.
 
The programme is designed to educate and equip students, faculty and institutions about the BPO industry and to leverage the career opportunities it offers.
 
24/7 Ascend will provide corporate benefits to academic institutions by training faculties on industry related skills, assistance in developing industry-specific curriculum, support in research-related course work.
 
It is specially designed for college students which includes accredited courses on language and communication, counselling on BPO careers and special study courses.
 
"To sustain the present momentum of the rapidly growing BPO industry, it is essential that the industry players and academia work together to attract, retain and develop an 'employable' workforce. 24/7 Ascend will synergise this need to create a talent pool for the future that will be better prepared and exposed to the unique skills required for a career in the BPO industry, which is people-oriented and talent-driven," S Nagarajan, founder and COO, 24/7 Customer, said in a statement.
 
To mark the Teacher's Day, the company launched the 24/7 Varsity programme designed to train the faculties of various colleges in Karnataka. In the first phase, English professors and lecturers from over 17 colleges across Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Mandya and Hassan will be trained on the various facets of communication.
