BigAdda, the social networking initiative of Reliance Entertainment, is looking at over 300 million users for its 'MobileAdda' version for cell phones, on the back of newer applications, brand associations as well as activity-based initiatives on both its website and mobile platform.

According to Nikhil Soman, chief technical officer of BigAdda, “We will introduce more applications and activities on our portal which will be eventually rolled out on the mobile platform as well. For instance, we will introduce a professional networking area where professionals could chat and even exchange contacts.

Also, we are working on a platform to ensure we are 3G handset friendly.” The company will also introduce activity-centric applications to encourage users to plan activity online, from movies to parties or even an event of regional interest. MobileAdda was launched on August 19 this year and has already witnessed 2,000 registrations per day. The BigAdda website sees 15,000 registrations per day, Soman claimed.

BigAdda is looking at brand associations with advertisers.

“For instance, a mutual fund company used our online platform recently to communicate with young working adults. This was an experiential marketing for both of us. Going forward, we are looking at similar such brand associations so that we can build a stronger online content,” said Soman.
