HP starts production facility in Uttaranchal

| Set up with an initial investment of Rs 100 crore, the new HP plant will start functioning in March next year. It will have an initial capacity of manufacturing 3,00,000 computers a month. Besides Pantnagar, HP has another plant in Bangalore, Karnataka. |
| HP Asia Pacific and Japan Personal Systems Group Senior Vice-President Adrian Koch said, "India is a strategic market for our products in the region. We also hope to cater to other emerging markets in the region." |
| According to the latest IDC quarterly results, HP has emerged as the leader in the PC market with a market share of 20.3 per cent. It has also achieved a 37.1 per cent market share in the notebook segment. The company also leads the desktop segment with a market share of 16.6 per cent. |
