With the launch of its software products and services in document and data management areas, Take Solutions, a software services and products firm, expects the life sciences business to contribute about 60 per cent to its topline in the next couple of years.

The company is planning to invest $2 million (about Rs 9 crore) in technology and infrastructure development this year.

The company's revenue for 2005-06 was expected at about $20 million (Rs 93 crore), with life sciences accounting for 47 per cent of it. The rest is expected to come from the supply chain management solution segment.

Take Solutions has launched a global life science software product under the name 'OneClinical' to offer a full spectrum of data and document management software products and services for clinical trials, drug and development lifecycles.

Under OneClinical brand, the company brings together the data management and consulting services of its Applied Clinical Intelligence Services and PharmaReady, a document management product suite.

Ram Yeleswarapu, president and chief executive officer of Take Solutions, told Business Standard that OneClinical had been designed as a one-stop software solution for clinical trials, drug and development life cycles.

The company's recent acquisition of US-based Applied Clinical Intelligence has brought in some capabilities in the life sciences sector, including clinical and safety data integration, CDISC (Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium) data standards capabilities, and data management services.

The acquisition of another US company, OnSphere, brought in the FDA-compliant document management software suite, among others.

Yeleswarapu added that document management and data management would be two focus areas for the company in 2006 and it was bringing global data management standards to serve all companies in all geographies.

Take Solutions is one of the 17 companies which are registered solution providers of CDISC standards.
