I-Flapp Technologies, a Singapore-headquartered technology start-up promoted by an Indian Sunder Mani, is looking at raising $5-10 million funding to support the marketing of its portable solutions for storage device called Application on Demand (AppsD).

Founded in 2005, the company initially raised $1 million internally and from some angel investors for its R&D initiatives. Mani, who was in Bangalore to launch the product for the Indian market, said the funds the company was planning to raise now would be used for marketing and brand building exercise globally.

"So far we have raised money internally and from angel investors. Now that our products are ready to hit the market, we are raising some funding from venture capitalists to take us to the next level. We are talking to VC firms in Singapore, India and the US," he said.

According to the company, AppsD helps users to carry popular applications like Photoshop CS2 9.0, complete suite of MS office 2003/XP, Microsoft project, Microsoft Visio, Acrobat Reader, Lotus Notes and mail clients like Microsoft Outlook in storage portable devices like SD card, USB pen drive and hard disk drive.

I-Flapp provides the software applications in a 64 MB drive, in which the software occupies a space of 9 MB, in a price tag ranging from $35 to $40. A user needs to install the software application in his portable storage devices of any make to carry the applications.

They can plug in the drives in any computer above Windows 2000 operating system including Vista and access it, said the company.
