Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the 12th edition of Auto Expo-Motor Show to be held in Greater Noida from February 7, industry body Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said today.
The week-long event will be jointly organised by SIAM, CII and Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA).
SIAM deputy director general Sugato Sen said a three-layer security system has been put in place at the venue.
The venue would be CCTV camera controlled and other necessary security equipment like scanners, metal detectors, etc would also be installed.
Besides, the 12th Auto Expo on components will be held at Pragati Maidan from February 6-9.
"It is going to be an exciting show. Despite the change in the venue (from Pragati Maidan in Delhi to Greater Noida), visitors will have an easy access to the new location," SIAM president and vice chairman of the Toyota Kirloskar Motor Vikram S Kirloskar told reporters here.
"We also plan to operate free bus service from Noida City Centre, Akshardham and Jasola metro stations," Sen said. In addition, free bus service from Pragati Maidan to the venue would be provided to the visitors, he said.
The Auto Expo Motor Show will be held at the venue spreading across 58 acres of land with 14 exhibition halls.
Over 50 exhibitors fron both India and abroad will display cars, multi-utility vehicles, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, concept vehicles, commercial vehicles, vintage cars, super cars and super bikes.
"Our primary objective of holding the show is showcasing India. Auto expo is, perhaps, largest exposure of the industry to the world. And we have all paraphernalia in place to make it a big success," Mahindra & Mahindra executive director and president (automotive & farm equipment) Pawan Goenka said.
At the Auto-Expo Component Show, about 1,200 participants are expected and some countries like China, Taiwan, UK, Canada, Germany, Korea and Japan will have specific pavilions, Sen said.
