UP, U’khand among states that modified land leasing laws
The government on Tuesday said Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand were among the states that have modified their leasing laws to promote land leasing. Replying to a question in Parliament, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that Madhya Pradesh had also enacted a law to enable leasing of land. An expert constituted by the NITI Aayog had suggested a model act on agriculture land leasing which was made public in April 2016. This model act has been formulated to enable states to frame their own land leasing laws.
