The Indian team finished the day with two gold, three silver and six bronze medals to remain in the sixth position in the medals tally at the end of day 2 of the Asian Games 2023 being held in Hangzhou, China.

Asian Games 2023 LIVE- Indian Boxers in action - Nishant Dev wins, moves to the round of 16

 

Nishant Dev of India took all three rounds of the Men’s 63.5-71 kg clash against Nepal’s Deepesh Lama and won by a unanimous decision of 5:0. He moved to the next round as a result of this win.

Vikrant Baliyan of India, who made a comeback in the second round after losing the first, could not win the third and final round. As a result, Baliyan had to bow out in the 1/8 final

Vikrant Baliyan, after a takedown early in Round 1 was not able to do well throughout the game and as a result, had to lose the first round of his 1/8 final against his Indonesian opponent.

Asian Games 2023 LIVE | Swimming Men's 4x200m relay- India seventh, Korea take gold

 

The Korean team has sprung a surprise and broken the shackles of China's dominance in swimming gold medals. They won the men's 4x200m relay with an Asian Record timing of 7:01.73 minutes. The Indian team finished seventh with a time of 7:29.23 minutes. This was the last event of the day from the HOC Aquatic Sports Arena.

In the Rapid Chess men's event, Arjun Erigaisi of India won in Round 3 and drew in Round 4 while Vidith Gujarathi had two wins to his name. 

 

In the Women's event, Koneru Humpy drew her Round 3 match and lost in Round 4 to a Chinese opponent. Another Indian, Harika Dronavalli lost her third-round match and drew in the fourth round.
