Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed a contract with Alstom Transport India Limited to enhance the reliability and performance of its oldest and busiest corridors, the Red Line and Yellow Line. The agreement was signed by DMRC's Director Infrastructure Manuj Singhal and Alstom Transport India Limited's Director Commercial Sachin Deora at Metro Bhawan. DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar and senior officials from both organisations were also present at yhe event, an official statement said. The move reflects DMRC's ongoing efforts to ensure high service standards and operational efficiency on its key metro lines -- the Red Line (Line-1) and Yellow Line (Line-2) --, the statement said. The contract, valid for six years with an option to extend it by an additional two years, aims to ensure the availability of onboard spares for the signalling systems and upgrade the existing data logging facilities to better analyse faults, it added. French company Alstom on Tuesday said it has been awarded a contract worth Rs 1,285 crore for supplying Mitrac traction components and other electrical equipment for 17 Vande Bharat Sleeper trainsets. The contract also includes preventive and corrective maintenance of the traction and major electric equipment, as well as support services, for a five-year period, after completion of warranty, at various railway depots, Alstom said in a statement. The equipment will be installed in 24-car sleeper trainsets on the Vande Bharat platform, designed to run at a maximum speed of 180 km/h, with a service speed of 160 km/h, it added. The systems will be supplied to Indian Railways' Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. Alstom India on Thursday said it has awarded a grant of Rs 1.5 crore to 10 startups that developed solutions in clean energy, shared mobility and multi-modal solutions as a part of its Sustainability Incubation Programme. Accelerated by NSRCEL-IIMB (NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning), the selected startups will be able to use the grant funds to develop and deploy their solutions, the company said in a statement. The statement said an expert jury, including innovation leaders from Alstom, screened over 200 applications and selected 20 startups for the incubation programme. Of these, 10 startups have been selected for grant support. MetroRide, Evoride Motors Private Limited, Epick Bikes, The Energy Company, and Tadpole Projects are among the 10 startups for the grant support.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Friday signed a contract with a manufacturing company to procure 312 coaches for its Phase-IV priority corridors, officials said. The three priority corridors are Majlis Park to Maujpur, Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg and Tughlakabad to Delhi Aerocity. "The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today (Friday) took a major step towards operationalising its Phase-IV corridors for passenger operations by signing the contract for procuring 312 metro coaches (52 trains) for Phase IV's priority corridors," the DMRC said in a statement. Work on the Phase IV corridor began in December 2019 with a groundbreaking ceremony but construction was hit following the outbreak of COVID-19 in March 2020.
