HLL Lifecare Limited, a Mini Ratna public sector enterprise under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has secured ISO 9001:2015 certification for its retail pharmacy operations. HLL's retail pharmacy network spans 239 centres nationwide, including AMRIT Pharmacies, AMRIT Opticals, HLL Pharmacy & Surgicals, and HLL Opticals, according to a statement on Monday. The certification is expected to bring standardisation, consistency, and greater transparency to HLL's retail operations, strengthening patient trust, the statement said. The achievement comes during a milestone year as HLL celebrates its diamond Jubilee alongside a decade of AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment). State-owned NHAI has signed an agreement with HLL Life Care Ltd to strengthen incident management systems and assist accident victims on National Highways, an official statement said on Friday. The MoU will help NHAI to strengthen its existing incident management system, which includes ambulances, route patrol vans & cranes, real-time tracking, and supportive supervision, the statement said. This will improve response time and facilitate referral of accident victims to the nearest health facilities, establishing a seamless process for incident management, it added. The pact will include Operation & Management of Trauma Centres/Emergency Stabilization Centers to maximize assistance during the golden hour and improve health outcomes. State-owned HLL Lifecare Limited has paid a dividend of Rs 122.47 crore to the health ministry for financial year 2021-22, an official statement said. The cheque was presented to Union Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya by Beji George, Chairman and Managing Director, HLL at an event here on Wednesday. HLL had a record turnover of Rs 35,668 crore and a profit before tax of Rs 551.81 crore in financial year 202122. Mandaviya said the company played an important role in the procurement and distribution of emergency medical supplies during the pandemic, supporting the Union Health Ministry in managing COVID-19. "As a nodal agency for procurement and supply of emergency medical items for COVID -19 pandemic management, it has enabled real time management of the crisis," Mandaviya added. He further noted that though PSUs were established with great vision, their performance has not always been satisfactory, the health ministry statement said. Expressing concern over sustainability of
