Maruti Suzuki India on Friday said it has reached a milestone of dispatching 1 million vehicles through in-plant railway terminals in just over three years since opening dedicated transportation lines at two manufacturing sites in Gujarat and Haryana. Operations from in-plant railway sidings at Hansalpur (Gujarat) commenced in March 2023 and from the Manesar (Haryana) railway siding in June 2025. In the current financial year, the automaker said that 70 per cent of its total rail-based vehicle dispatches have been through these two in-plant railway sidings, and its mid-term goal is to increase such dispatches to 35 per cent by FY31. As of August 31 of this fiscal year, the company's rail-based vehicle dispatches have crossed 3 lakh units, it said. The country's largest automaker Maruti Suzuki India has reported its highest-ever monthly production at 2,48,845 units in July, a jump of 33 per cent, over the same month last year. The auto major had produced 1,87,073 units in July 2025, as per a regulatory filing by the company. The company's best monthly production performance till now was in March 2026 when it rolled out 2,31,933 units from its factories. Despite the record production, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Partho Banerjee said the company's dealer inventory is much lower compared to average as it registered retail sales of 1.78 lakh units in July. "Our network stock is just 16 days across the (dealer) network," he said, adding that the company has pending bookings of around 1.6 lakh units. On an average, the industry dealer inventory is around 30 days. The car market leader has also reported best ever passenger vehicle wholesales in the domestic market at 1,96,203 units .

Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday reported a 19.3 per cent rise in total sales at 2,00,390 units in June as compared to 1,67,993 units in the same month last year. Total domestic passenger vehicle sales were at 1,47,187 units last month as compared to 1,18,906 units in June 2025, a growth of 23.8 per cent, Maruti Suzuki India said in a regulatory filing. Sales of mini cars, comprising the Alto and S-Presso were at 11,416 units in June as compared to 6,414 units in the year-ago month. Compact cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, WagonR sales rose at 63,815 units last month as compared to 55,205 units in June 2025. Sales of utility vehicles, consisting of Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6, rose to 61,726 units in the month under review as compared to 47,947 units in the same month a year ago. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Monday announced the start of commercial production at the second plant of its Kharkhoda manufacturing facility in Haryana. The second plant has an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh units, taking the total capacity at Kharkhoda to 5 lakh units, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) said in a statement. With the new capacity coming in, the company's overall annual production capacity across its facilities in Gurugram, Manesar and Kharkhoda in Haryana, and Hansalpur in Gujarat stands at 26.5 lakh units, it added. When fully operational, the Kharkhoda facility will be among parent Suzuki's largest four-wheeler manufacturing locations with capacity to produce 10 lakh vehicles per annum, the company said. The country's largest carmaker had earlier indicated its plan to add 5 lakh units of capacity in FY 2026-27. The company currently produces compact SUV Brezza and mid-SUV Victoris at the facility.

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Wednesday said it has committed Rs 1,372 crore towards dedicated green logistics infrastructure, as it aims to increase share of rail-based vehicle dispatches to 35 per cent by 2030-31. The company, which crossed 30 lakh cumulative vehicle dispatches through railways, currently has 26.5 per cent of its total dispatches coming from rail outbound logistics, said Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) "Since 2014, our rail-based vehicle dispatches have increased ninefold in volume, now contributing 26.5 per cent of the company's total vehicle dispatches.
