A technician allegedly working at Medanta Hospital here was arrested on Friday in connection with the sexual assault on a flight attendant who was on a ventilator in the hospital, police said. The accused has been identified as Deepak (25), a native of Bihar's Muzaffarpur, who had been living in Gurugram for some time, they said. A senior police officer said that during the interrogation, the accused revealed that he joined Medanta five months ago after completing his bachelor's in Operation Theatre Technology at a private university here. Police said they identified the accused after examining CCTV footage, interrogating the hospital staff and investigating various facts. "Over 50 employees of the hospital and some doctors were questioned, and footage from 800 CCTV cameras was examined. After multiple analyses, we finally identified the accused and arrested him today. Global Health, which operates hospitals under the Medanta brand, on Friday said its consolidated profit after tax increased 4 per cent year on year to Rs 106 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2024. The company had reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 102 crore in the April-June quarter. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 861 crore in the June quarter as compared to Rs 779 crore in the year-ago period, Global Health said in a regulatory filing. Realty major DLF on Thursday announced that it has tied up with Global Health Ltd (Medanta) to set up a 400-bed multi-speciality hospital in the national capital. The two companies will have an equal partnership in the new joint venture. DLF and Global Health Ltd -- a leading private multi-specialty tertiary care provider -- have "entered into an understanding for forming a company to launch a 400-bed multi-super specialty hospital to provide the highest quality of healthcare in the heart of Delhi in Greater Kailash-I." Healthcare provider Global Health (Medanta) on Monday said its net profit surged over five fold to Rs 101 crore in the fourth quarter ended on March 31, 2023, aided by increase in bed capacity and higher in-patient footfalls. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 17.5 crore in the January-March quarter of 2021-22 fiscal. Revenue in the reporting quarter rose 37 per cent year-on-year to Rs 732 crore, the company said in a statement. For the financial year ended on March 31, 2023, Medanta posted a net profit of Rs 326 crore as against Rs 196 crore in FY22. Revenue rose to Rs 2,759 crore in the last fiscal as against Rs 2,206 crore in 2021-22 fiscal.
